BVI Medical states that the FineVision HP is the world's first trifocal intraocular lens, with more than 15 years of clinical use internationally and millions of implantations worldwide prior to its United States approval. The third-generation design uses a double C-loop, four-point haptic configuration that the manufacturer reports is intended to support long-term stability and centration within the capsular bag, paired with its CoPODize optic technology, which BVI describes as harmonizing light distribution and reducing visual disturbances. On February 10, 2026, BVI announced the first United States implantations of the lens, performed by five surgeons from the company's U.S. Surgical Leadership Council. Dr. Rebenitsch completed his medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis and a refractive surgery fellowship at Durrie Vision through the University of Kansas.
